{"id":6135,"date":"2022-09-02T12:56:51","date_gmt":"2022-09-02T10:56:51","guid":{"rendered":"\/Team\/prof-dr-klaus-gerwert\/"},"modified":"2025-08-27T14:45:28","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T12:45:28","slug":"prof-dr-klaus-gerwert","status":"publish","type":"team","link":"https:\/\/www.beta-sense.de\/en\/Team\/prof-dr-klaus-gerwert\/","title":{"rendered":"Prof. Dr. Klaus Gerwert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prof. Dr. Klaus Gerwert studied physics in M&amp;uuml;nster and earned his doctorate in biophysical chemistry at the University of Freiburg.<\/p>\n<p>After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Max Planck Institute in Dortmund and a Heisenberg Fellowship (DFG) at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, USA, he became a professor and chair of biophysics at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) in Germany at the age of 36.<\/p>\n<p>He founded SFB 642 (Collaborative Research Centre) and headed it from 2004 to 2016.<\/p>\n<p>He was a Fellow of the Max Planck Society (2009\u20132017) and an external director at the Max Planck Partner Institute in Shanghai (2009\u20132014), China.
