For Germany alone, current forecasts predict 2.8 million people with dementia by 2050.<\/span><\/span> At the same time the a<\/span><\/span>ge is the main risk factor for developing neurodegenerative diseases.<\/span><\/span> The problem: people with neurodegenerative diseases<\/span><\/span>\u00a0are considered to require a lot of care and are increasing due to demographic change<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> This is accompanied by increasing cost pressure on health insurance companies, from the burdens on<\/span><\/span> Not to mention the patients themselves as well as their relatives and society.<\/span><\/span> Urgent<\/span><\/span> We are therefore looking for an effective and inexpensive test that can identify early indicators of neurodegenerative disease<\/span><\/span> detect illnesses.<\/span><\/span> Based on these early diagnoses, affected people could be treated in a timely manner<\/span><\/span> change their lifestyle and receive tailored therapies before irreversible brain damage occurs<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

It is thanks to Klaus Gerwert that such a test now exists.<\/span><\/span> \u00a0The \u201cimmuno-infrared sensor\u201d developed by his company betaSENSE measures the structural changes<\/span><\/span> of proteins in body fluids and detects structural misfolding long before the first symptoms of disease appear.<\/span><\/span> Thanks to the innovation, doctors and those affected gain valuable time<\/span><\/span> to be able to take countermeasures at an early stage.<\/span><\/span> In order to develop the test to market maturity.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0In mid-2020, iR Diagnostic IP holding was founded as a spin-off from the Ruhr University Bochum and won<\/span><\/span> quickly investors for Klaus Gerwert\u00b4s vision.<\/span><\/span> This later became betaSENSE GmbH.<\/span><\/span> Gerwert hopes that health insurance companies<\/span><\/span> include the test in their offering and in a few years it will become part of regular preventive examinations<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> Thanks to Gerwert’s invention and the new, very promising medications, the disease progress can <\/span><\/span>successfully be\u00a0 influenced.<\/span><\/span> This enables more people to live a healthy life, even in old age<\/span><\/span> and dignity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
